Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
• your name, email address, telephone number, postal or billing information and messages;
• account, booking, attendance, course, qualification and payment records;
• newsletter preferences and records of consent;
• information you choose to provide about injuries, health, accessibility or adjustments relevant to participating safely in a class or course;
• correspondence, complaints and customer-service records; and
• technical information such as device and browser details, approximate location derived from an IP address, security logs, website activity, and cookie and consent choices.
Please provide health information only when it is relevant to your participation or safety.
Why we use information and our lawful bases
We use personal information to respond to enquiries; manage accounts, bookings, payments, classes, courses and qualifications; provide appropriate teaching and reasonable adjustments; send requested service messages; keep records required by law or an awarding body; protect our website and users; improve our services; and send optional marketing where permitted.
Our lawful bases are, as applicable: taking steps at your request before a contract; performing a contract; complying with legal obligations; our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the business; and consent for optional marketing, non-essential cookies and particular uses of health information. Where health information is necessary to protect a participant or provide an appropriate service, we will identify and document the applicable additional condition under data-protection law. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use strictly necessary technologies to operate and secure the website. With your consent, we may also use functional, analytics or advertising technologies, including technologies supplied by Wix, Google or Meta where enabled. Non-essential technologies are disabled until you choose to allow them. You can accept, deny or choose categories in the cookie banner and change your choice later through the privacy-settings control. The banner's details provide the current providers, purposes and retention periods identified by our website scan.
Sharing information
We share information only where needed with service providers that support our website, communications, bookings, video or course delivery, payments, accounting and business administration. These may include Wix and, where enabled for the relevant service, Stripe, Google and Meta. We may also share necessary information with awarding organisations, insurers, professional advisers, regulators, law-enforcement bodies or a purchaser of the business where lawful. We do not sell personal information.
Payment-card information is provided directly to the payment provider and is not stored by Julie Driver Pilates.
Where a supplier processes information outside the UK, we use an appropriate safeguard such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, together with supplementary measures where required.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiries for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact. Core transaction, tax and accounting records are normally retained for six years after the relevant financial year. Course, assessment or qualification records may be retained for the period required by the relevant awarding organisation or regulator. Health or adjustment information is reviewed regularly and deleted when no longer needed for the relevant service, legal claim or safeguarding purpose. Cookie-consent records and individual cookies are retained for the periods shown in the privacy settings. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer required.
Marketing
We send email marketing only where we have a valid lawful basis. You can unsubscribe using the link in an email or by contacting us. Unsubscribing does not prevent necessary messages about a booking, account or course.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your personal information, object to processing, receive information in a portable format and withdraw consent. You also have the right not to be subject to certain solely automated decisions. Email julie@juliedriverpilates.com to exercise a right. We may need to verify your identity and will normally respond within one month.
You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
Children
Our website and services are not directed at children unless a particular class or course expressly says otherwise. Where we knowingly provide a service to someone under 18, we will provide appropriate privacy information and obtain parental or guardian involvement where required.
Changes to this notice
We review this notice regularly and publish the latest revision date above. We will draw attention to material changes where appropriate.
